The following table states rules for quickly testing if numbers are divisible by certain values.

 If it's divisible by ... Divisibility Rule Example 2 The number ends with an even number: 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8 238 3 The sum of the digits is divisible by 3 741 (7 + 4 + 1 = 12) 4 The last 2 digits of the number are divisible by 4 852 (52/4 = 13) 5 The number ends in 0 or 5 1265 6 The number is divisible by 2 and 3 354 8 The last 3 digits are divisible by 8 6216 (216/8 = 27) 9 The sum of the digits is divisible by 9 6255 (6 + 2 + 5 + 5) / 9 = 2 10 The number ends with a 0 260 11 [The sum of the digits in the odd power of 10 place values] minus [the sum of the even power of 10 place values] is divisible by 11 48136 [(6 + 1 + 4) - (3 + 8)]/11=0
